So I'm on to my next build which is the M4 Sherman by Tamiya. Apologies for the lack of pictures from the beginning I kind of started it then thought about the wip following a conversation with a very nice friendly member on here :)

so, the box art

The upper hull all primed and ready for a coat of brown. You heard me right, brown.

The method behind the madness is I'm doing a brown base coat which is coated in hairspray then used as a chipping layer. Such as this done on the lower hull.

Moving in the right direction Jay, don't forget to look at the areas that you are chipping up, is it a high traffic area for hob nail boots or just hitting trees and obstacles, look at the sizes of the scratches and chips.

Looking forward to to seeing more

Thanks Dan. Majority of that is above my skill level at the moment I think but I'm definitely going to leave off the armour plating looking at that list. Why Tamiya leave that till one of the last steps I'll never know!

The turret chipping has been done as has the upper hull. They have been joined, a gloss coat done (lasts night) and the decals on.

just some final weathering on the tracks and a Matt coat to go. Can anyone recommend a decent Matt coat? The Windsor and Newton I have seems quite thick and when I try to thin it, it coats all strange.
