Kinetic F/A-18C, 1/48

Recommended Posts

Good evening gents,

yesterday the Kinetic F/A-18C arrived  :worthy:

A lovely kit, excellent Surface and Details - but no PE for the sideconsoles or the interior! Also no colored seatbelts.....

But nearly perfect decals and many weapons/stores!

Will make the F/A-18C NAWDC 163750, NAS Fallen, 2016 in low vis, folded wings

Well, must start this next to the MiG i build.....

The Boxart

started with the seat and the cockpit

Drybrushed it with help from revell (decals)

the kit seat is not the best, i take some resin parts from my other (F-16) seat + PE from Eduard and the result is

not bad ;)

and dryfitted the Hornet

Hi John, thanks for your comment!

You are right with the belt color, but i don´t have other PE-belts than these - if i could paint them to my satisfaction i would, but my painting skills.....

I´m afraid i will destroy the good looking, but i try a wash an d pigments!

And the last one, a comparison to the 1/48 Eduard MiG-21R

The upper and lower parts are only dryfitted, cockpit is glued in

Thank you my friends,

fit is good, but the nose section is horrible.... there are 2-3 gaps to fill. Intake area is not the best but ok!

Hi Oliver,

Looks pretty good so far.

Have you tried test-fitting the windscreen to the fuselage?

I have, and I'm contemplating using Jeremy Clarkson's tool for finesse and desperate situations...

Cheers,

S.
