perdu
Thank you guys, Pete in our branch of IPMS we have missileers Who actually know a bit about that stuff At least I know something about the Wasp I suspect some kind of spectacular figure may win, maybe Napoleon on his charger Front feet in the air evading a cannon ball blast He he, I think Tom's going to do that... Or not! One of the missile chaps brought the first entry along He made an F16 in Thunderbirds colours in sharply angled flight Funny game innit. Pete in Lincs
A funny old game indeed. I have a 1/20th maschinen kreiger Falke, brand new in its box. And the in detail book too. Yet I'm scratchbuilding one. Why? because I think I can, and I think I will get more pleasure doing it this way. (I am BTW). Funny peculiar I call it.
perdu
I'm looking for a decent view of the fuel placard on the starboard fuselage, below the engine The one with a star emblem and the several fuel types so I can get a print off it Not in the very extensive BM walkarounds Nor yet on the net from my frenzied searches I'd appreciate any help with this, that little white patch of stencilling is quite 'obvious'
Fozzy
Hi Bill....I really know whats its like to not be able to find something you absolutely need for your masterpiece!..to that end I have had a good look for you from my photo's and the old internet and I have to report that I have failed miserably!...can't believe there is nothing about!...its like when I was building my Spitfire.....certain info you want ....you'll never find!..... I did find this one photo (sure you have seen it before)...out of focus and probably no use to man or beast!.... there were a few more photos but the photographer must have been under the influence at the time of the photo shoot!....so this is the best I could find...may be someone else can do better! It will be sooo teeny weeny on your Wasp that just a dab of white ink might do the trick?... any ways...good hunting!
perdu
Thanks Fozzy, that picture does ring a bell, ta I could justifiably ignore it for now I suppose then get to one of the heli based museums for a picture to finally finish the job Worth the asking though I think Cheers

perdu
Simples Steve, oh welcome back aboard by the way, the 'decal' on the aeroplane has a visible carrier film I'll just gently minimise the white edge with the merest whisper of RAF BG enamel to act as a fader Big problem came last night I modified the image in 'shop, changed the background colour to the grey/blue in spec and popped it and the lo-viz danger markings into Word 2010 or such ever version of word is in the pooter Then discovered I'm out of white inkjet transfer paper Normal service will be resumed... Blah blah Not on table Sunday Tom, it's charity build day in Longbridge Won't be finished by then anyway, I'll bring the plain paper print off so you can inspect it Edited March 13, 2017 by perdu

Have you got a source of white decal paper that is nice and thin?
perdu
I'm (kind of) desperately looking through the available suppliers for paper but none of 'em says how thin they are No worries the actual notice is on a visible decal anyway so since it is very tiny anyway a little overemphasis will not really matter hugely I still have copious detailing to do, brake device lines for a start and making wipers and some more tie downs Then bunging the flotation 'wings and things' on And finishing the rotor and tail rotor gear All good fun
perdu
I checked out the prices of inkjet paper and have ordered two each of clear and white for £7.40, inc postage for four sheets Another retailer with a yellow logo wants £3.50 per sheet either sort Two to three days for delivery free of charge, I hope Craftovator is as good as it seems I'll let you know
perdu
The figures I had for RAF BG in RGB gave me this to print (printed plain copier paper 80gsm Cut out from the first paper print off and held against the target area I need to darken and grey it a tad but not too bad ^ no flash with flash \/ A bit too blue, back to the shop (P-shop naturally) Thinks... do tidy up those wheels idiot... doh... In other work I have been working on the home brew tail rotor nine pieces so far, more to go adding the pitch change ball joints prior to working up the pitch change pushrod bits And some little rods that seem to be counter balance weights I'll be in the paintshop/garage tomorrow getting the RAFBG on the centre section and a basic white on the blades ready for black decal striping bebeggared with trying to add thin black striping on these babies Work on the MRG tomorrow too ready to add the decals and floats And the bridgeworks and brake pipes You may notice the levers added to the wheel arches that appears to operate a latch when pushed down Probably by a matelot's hefty boot They gave me uncounted amusement today I'm not counting, there wasnt any Edited March 14, 2017 by perdu

CedB
Just when I think you've done the tiniest thing Bill you go and do something even tinier - those counterweights are microscopic! Great stuff - she's looking gorgeous.

Ex-FAAWAFU
Awesome! As others have said, those counterweights must be ludicrously tiny. We salute you, Bill. Edited March 14, 2017 by Ex-FAAWAFU
Fritag
Bill, I remember Scoutie setting the bar high back in 2014 - but with Wopse you just keep on raising that bar like some drug assisted Russian pole vaulter (but without the drug assistance - obviously )
