U-479 Type VIIC U-boat Kriegsmarine Baltic Sea

Recommended Posts

Heres my completed modified hobbyboss VIIC 1/350 U-boat U-479, recently found on the bottom of the Baltic in 2013, having been sunk by a soviet mine in 1944.

The rear wintergarten was scratch built and added to depict U-479 for the Great Patriotic War Group Build. For me this was a fiddly build, PE and all but enjoyable.

The rigging was fuse wire and painted in humbrol enamels with a hairystick. Next time i will try something else for the rigging as not completely happy with the results.(probably just me LOL)
