Bozothenutter
Well, since my Mirage seems to have stallen, I'd thought I'd try this for a change.....a kit bought in 1984. it will be built as Richie''s plane on the morning of his 5th kill. decals will be ancient microscale, with a black box cockpit, aires 'cans and wheel wells and seamless suckers intakes. with some Eduard added for good measure. Some serious thinning on the wing bottom.....I was warned and the same for the wheelwell....paperthin......... Top of the cockpit sides, I cut an L shape out of the edge so it would fit..... Left hand side right hand side Tub, the black marks are where some machining will be done so the nosewheel well will fit. 'burner cans.......must take better pictures, as the bluing doesn't really show up inside of the 'cans Edited September 16, 2016 by ozothenutter links to postimage added

Bozothenutter
some of the aux intake interior...probably wasted effort but fun to do.....
Bozothenutter
found out that the aux interior encroached on the seamless intakes........so more cutting and sanding! on the right the original one, on the left the modified.
Bozothenutter
Now for some help.......I'm looking for my throttle handles and can't seem to find anything that translates to reference pics. and ofcourse none of the Blackbox stuff is numbered as on the instructions..... I do seem to have a lot of sticks though...two are obvious of course , and the third will be to control the radar....but the rest?
Bozothenutter
That's it....i'm sending Dmold some of my money....... that ladies and gentlemen is a 2mm step!.......the whole intake is less high than the kit part!
Bozothenutter
I see Dmold don't do a D specific intake for the Hase kit....is it safe to assume that any intake for the Hase kit will fit?
Bozothenutter
been a while, catching up with life the universe and everything..... well, I sent my money off to Dmold, and recieved two exquisitly moulded intakes. as you can see, the fit is much better in some aspects....but the same in others! Oh and the gaps are after some serious clamping aswell...... Oh well, best to carry on regardless. i have the Werner's Wings decals for this aircraft now, and it is close to being ready for some paint......might actually finish something! Jens
The Dmold intakes are probably for the later releases of the Hasegawa Phantoms (the ones with the recessed panel lines). Jens
Bozothenutter
to be fair they weren't for the C/D....but would there be that much difference between kits?
