BSG Mark VIIE Viper (my version)

Recommended Posts

Been working on this for a few months and finally finished. This is the Moebius 1/32 viper. I did not modify the nose to the correct E generation shape. I just shortened it and blended in the long ventral wing fin things so they conformed and looked aerodynamic. I also tinted the canopy to an amber shade and added a glare shield. I left it fairly clean, didn't want it too banged up. Think it looks better kinda clean. That's a switch! bigsmile.png

Thanks for looking20160907_173951_zpsoaglqayh.jpg20160907_173939_zpsssilp24w.jpg20160907_173930_zpsnu4cnoxf.jpg20160907_173918_zpspo8pv4ns.jpg20160907_173848_zps4wtp0kqo.jpg20160907_173839_zpspk3wgmmj.jpg20160907_173803_zpszhgcncnv.jpg20160907_173729_zpsmd5zbccg.jpg20160907_173708_zpsumtfrbi5.jpg

I'm not a fan of the mark VII, I much prefer the older mark II but this is a very nice looking bird, you have done yourself proud Mr Snake. The grey modulation you have achieved is great, how did you paint it? I also love the mounting you have for this, is it your own design?

Thanks Dwarf. I used Vallejo paints through an airbrush to pre-shade over a base coat of a light grey/blue. Then layered various shades of light greyish blue over some darker spots to give it that "mottled" effect. I topped it off with adding some highlights on some of the raised areas with the snow from the Tamiya pastel weathering kit.

The base is just a universal camera mount on a wood base. I get the mounts from ebay for about 7 dollars. I epoxy a 1/4 threaded insert in the model so it can be removed if needed. Thanks for the comments!
