Julien
Recently from the museum two patches were removed from displays, these were tack sewn on as well as Velcro so the person who did it knew what they were doing. The two patches stolen were the 'Got Nukes' patch illustrated below and an Aerospace Rescue & Recovery Service 'Angel' patch. Anyone that buys / trades patches pls can you keep a look out. The downside is now that all these items will be removed from show. Julien
goggsy
That sucks. My local museum has a Vulcan in lovely condition that can be visited inside. There was a time when you could sit in the pilot's seat but they've had to stop that because they kept finding idiots with screwdrivers stealing parts to sell on eBay. Jens
I saw a picture of a similar patch posted on facebook within the last few days. Was the story posted on the museum page too (that could have been where I saw it). Jens

Mike
As I said on Skype, a fine copper wire sewn into the thread attaching the patch, linked to a buzzer secreted on the dummy could prevent that sort of thing happening again. break the circuit, trigger the buzzer, panic and scarper!
Dermo245
What the [expletive deleted] are people doing this for? A few bob via EBay? Stealing from a museum...really gets my blood pressure up Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......
Mike
It's dumb, selfish & stupid, but let's not get carried away with castigating the perp. Get the word out & try to get it back... if everyone's keeping a watching eye, they've got more chance of being caught & the badge returned to the rightful owners
huvut76g7gbbui7
Agree. More publicity makes it more difficult to sell and the fences will lower the price offered. Hope the thief isn't a private collector though.
