Mike
T-14 Armata Side Skirts (36345) for Takom1:35 Eduard Takom's kit of this next generation Russian Federation AFV has been out a few months now (reviewed here), and Eduard's new set addresses the thickness issue with the lower parts of the vehicle's sideskirts, due to the limitations of injection moulding, which coupled with the upgrade set we reviewed here a couple of months ago should make a substantial improvement to your kit. As usual with Eduard's Photo-Etch (PE) and Mask sets, they arrive in a flat resealable package, with a white backing card protecting the contents and the instructions that are sandwiched between. The set arrives on one fairly large fret of bare brass, and after removing all but the row of ERA blocks from the skirts, they are replaced by more detailed and in-scale parts, broken down into front and rear sections that split at the end of the ERA block run. Brackets hold the skirts vertically under the blocks, and some light bending of parts is needed on the rear section to replicate the stand-off kink at the top of the panels. The front & rear parts are linked by a PE latch, just like the real thing, and should give a much more in-scale look when viewed from anywhere that isn't side-on.
