Ju.88A-4 Update Sets (for ICM)
1:48 Eduard

boxtop.jpg

This new variant is now treated to the same crop of upgrades as the earlier A-5 boxing, with much of the content the same and similar. As usual with Eduard's Photo-Etch (PE) and Mask sets, they arrive in a flat resealable package, with a white backing card protecting the contents and the instructions that are sandwiched between.

As always you have selection of sets to choose from, including the cut-down Zoom! sets and the full-meal-deal BigEd sets, as well as the individual sets for you to pick and choose from, as follows:

Interior (49782)
The set consists of two frets, one of which is nickel plated and pre-painted, the other in bare brass for constructional elements. The pre-painted sheet is mainly used to replace all the moulded-in detail on the various instrument panels, radio boxes and so forth, using laminated panels with superb detail printed on to a high standard, which also gives a more 3D look. A number of small assemblies give a more accurate look and feel to the cockpit and bomb-aimer's areas, with seat-back detail; rudder pedals; additional details in the canopy; gun-details including ring and bead sights, ammunition contains and even travel-locks for the guns when not in use. There is a degree of folding of the brass required, so ensure you have the tools available, especially for the framework, the large box in the nose, and the lower gondola fairing detailing, which incorporates delicate parts and a few curved parts.

Zoom! Set (FE782)
This reduced content set just includes the pre-painted and nickel plated sheet as seen above, for those that are primarily interested in the cockpit's instruments. The reduced price also makes it more attractive for many reasons.

Seatbelts STEEL (49783)
A single fret of pre-painted and shaded highly flexible and thin steel provides all the parts necessary for the four crew seats plus one fold-up jump-seat near the lower hatch. Each one is a four-point harness apart from the jump seat, which is a simple lap-strap, and they have metallic clasps, with realistic printing of both the fabric, shading and the stitching to add extra realism to your model.

Exterior (48894)
The main focus of this single large fret of brass parts is the twin engine nacelles, providing additional detail for the wheels; gear legs; engines with a small film instrument panel set into each area; engine bay door skins to replace the thick plastic parts; annular radiator skins; gear bay sidewall details; gear bay door skins, all in duplicate for each nacelle. Other than that, you also get details for the tail gear; two towel-rail aerials under the tail; hinge-points for the gear bay doors for which you'll need to provide some 0.5mm wire or styrene rod; the spoked antenna on the spine, and trim-tab actuators for the ailerons.

Masks (EX527)
Supplied on a sheet of yellow kabuki tape, these pre-cut masks supply you with a full set of masks for the extensively glazed canopy, with every facet catered for. In addition you get a set of hub masks for the wheels, allowing you to cut the demarcation perfectly with little effort.
