A lot of carbon is being added to all the little parts like the front wing tuning vanes below The drs activator is going through the same carbon adding The leading edges of the front wing also have had carbon added as well as the inner most tips The steering wheel has had the kit decals and carbon added, just need to paint the handles now and add the parts to the back Finally after trying to get the fit right I have the lower parts of the front suspension on. Then started on the front bulkhead by adding (yep you guess it) carbon to parts. The gearbox was added, the wheel hub is just sat in place to help glue in one of the suspension arms in the right place for later. I added so silver foil to the exhaust area as heat shielding Later on once things had a while to set up I glued the floor pan on and seat in also as well as the upper front suspension arms A few more rear suspension parts were added and also the exhaust was glued in place, as it's the real metal one there where no pins to go in the body so a little strip of plastic card was used on the most inside part so it stays hidden The seat that won't be seen once finished has had some belts added, they are looses due to the driver figure needing to go in under them slightly as he exits The nose is almost finished, everything is just placed at the moment though Jeez all those wing parts really beat my vision up while putting the carbon on but I think it looks worth it with the thicker parts of the wings getting a more course grade of weave. And finally for this update the wheels have had the tyre seem sanded off then smoothed down the whole surface for the slightly worn look as mclaren Hondas normally blew up withing the first 15 laps so didn't wear the tyres as much as others lol More soon Shaun 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
shood23 Posted March 2, 2017 Author Share Posted March 2, 2017 Small post for a little more progress Rear hubs have been glued on The front wing is almost complete now just the right wings and endplates needed The undernose turning vanes have had carbon decal added The t-camera is almost finished now The barge boards have been decalled and now just need a rub with polishing cloth to remove my prints All the wheels and tyres are now rubbed down and just need a few touches to finish them The front wing endplates are having the carbon added And finally the drs activator has been carbon decalled and just needs a little finishing touches Also when putting the front hubs on noticed the front suspension is in the wrong place and lifts the front up massively too high so am fixing this now hopefully I don't do too much damage when ripping bits back off. #rookiemistake More soon Shaun 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A little more has been done to this recently but not much as I am taking it slow so I don't mess up by smearing glue over bits. The nose has had the cameras added and now is ready for the wing. And it's on, where I cut the nose off I had to prop it up while the glue set so the front wing angle was right. Now to the rear of the car. The rear wing endplates have had the carbon added to the inside face. And finally the rear wing planes have been stuck together Just need a few more little bits done then the wing can be assembled. The rear wing is now assembled now though and will go on the car very soon. Hopefully I will have this done by the weekend finally. The rear wing has had the drs activator put on and then the whole unit has been glued on to the car. And finally mocked the front wing on just for a look and to make sure line are right and level, which they weren't with the front wing as you can tell by my tooth pick props Just need to button up all the little vanes and bits now then should be done More soon Shaun 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wheels and tyres where detailed a little more with directional arrows and centre caps T camera has been stuck on. Barge boards and reprofiled side deflectors have been stuck on There are a few small jobs to do but mainly to do with the button figure and steering wheel.
