Scania 143

Hi Guys

Hope you don't mind me posting this here but I thought I would share a few photos of a little project that I have been working on for a while.

It's an Italeri Scania 143 Streamline kit with a few aftermarket extras as well as a bit of scratch building.

I'm in the process of final detailing and assembly at the moment so I'll post more photos soon.

I agree, the CTM stuff is very good. Highly recommended.

Yes, Chris Moxham did the decals to his usual high standard.

Pin stripes are from KFS though.

I've made a bit more progress on this over the past few days.
The cab is very nearly finished with just the air horns left to add.
Still quite a bit of work left to do on the chassis but I think the end is in sight.......at last..!!

I have the Italeri Subaru rally team boxing with this kit and the Tamiya Impreza. Where did you get the rhd dash from? That's one thing that has bugged me from the start about the kit, as the Subaru teams one is a UK model 143M. So it also has the straight 6 engine, not the V8 like the kit offers

You've done a great job with the kit. Gives me hope that when I do start mine it's not going to end up back in the box like my AMT Road Boss kit lol.

The older Italeri Scanias do build up into lovely models with a bit of work.

Be careful with the 143 as you will need to alter the rear cab mountings to stop the cab leaning back when finished..!!

If you want a RHD dashboard, M&G Mouldings sell them along with a few other "corrected" parts for the 143. http://www.mgmouldings.co.uk/scania.htm

Depending on how far you want to go with the detailing, there are etched brass upgrades available from Czech Truck Model as well as better headlights etc. http://www.czechtruckmodel.com/catalogue1.php

Other parts such as a straight six engine (Scania R Series but you might get it to fit) are available from Kit Form Services http://www.kitformservices.com/index.html

Thanks for that. I made a mistake the Subaru team truck was a 113M, so it needs the 11L engine. I've done a quick search and the 11L engine in the R series is a development of the one used in the 3 series so it might be an option. I'll defo be looking at though links. Thanks again
