dawkuk
Hiya, folks. I finished my Willys, so it's time for something new. This time I decided to build something more modern. I found this Grizzly in my stash. I bought it once in Berlin for a bargain price due to the box damage. It's an easy to build (i hope) model with no interior. It has lotsa mistakes - too bad. I'll try co correct some of them. Here's what's inside the box: But first, the box itself... Rubber tires. Some PE parts. Clear parts. And the sprues. The Hull. I also started on lower hull and suspension. So far everything fits fine, no problems. Some more details added. Some close-ups. As lower hull is nearly done, I'm gonna go for upper one. First I'll fill these 3 holes in the center of the image. They are incorect, the hull should be flat. That is it for now. Cheers. dawkuk
Hi. Long time no see on this one, but here's some progress. Some more upgrades in the bottom part. Also mounted the rear door. And some boxes... Next step was the little turret. A so-far-overview of the Grizzly. I really like its shape. Very ellegant And the time has come to close the hull. Easy, as there's no interior. The hatches. The one on the turret. That's how it looks. Fuel canister. There's also a little commercial of my modeller's blog. Check it out if you want, thanks. That is it for now. There will be more on the subject soon, as I'm nearly finished with the project. It just needs some photos, so stay tuned, if you're interested. Thanks, Dawid

dawkuk
As promised, here's a portion of pics. Head lights and wire cutter mounted... The rear wall was also eguipped with all the details. Getting ready for paints... Last overview before the primer... And here's the primer... As I've mentioned earlier, I really like the elegant shape of the Grizzly. OK, lads, time to bring out DA PAINT Thanks for watching. phildagreek
Sorry about the double post there, don't know how it happened. Still like the build though!
Buzby061
Good progress. It's encouraging that manufacturers are kitting modern subjects now rather than every variation of Panthers & Tigers. Pete
dawkuk
Thanks lads. Here's some progress. The Paint is on. That's Pactra's Medium Green. I covered whole surface without any preshadings. I'll use the Modulation technique instead. And that's it. I went a little heave, but I think it'll be worth. The colours I used for modulation were: the same Medium Green and different amounts of White or Black paint. As you can see, I highlighted most panels and top surfaces, while the lower parts were painted darker tones. I'm really happy with overall results. Thanks for watching. Next episode: decals, washes.

dawkuk
Hiya. As promised, decals and washes. First, of course, a thin later of Gloss Varnish. I ripped the big SFOR decal, and I've replaced it with small one. Doesn't look great... The plate is not a decal. It's a piece of paper from paint sheet included in box. Nice thing. A bit thicker than a decal, so it looks like a piece of metal. Luckily, second SFOR sign survived. Decals done. Time for washes. I really like colour modulation and wash together. Grizzly's surely getting this sharp look. All the details and panels are very 3D-like. Some say colour modulation is just a trick to fool an eye. It is, but it serves great purpose. It surely makes model more "alive" and that's the whole point. So I'm gonna use it on my models OK. That is it for today. More pictures real soon. Thanks for watching. dawkuk
Hiya folks. Some more sights on the subject: Did some streakings and oil fading. I used different products for streaks. Different tones form whole variety of AK's Streaking pallette. I thought i maybe overdid it, but there are few more stages until Grizzly will be complete. I am happy with the result. Some more on a turret. Also, painted the wheels. And did some exhaust fumes. It's a black paint mixed with AK's Rubber Tyre paint. Some highlighting on tyres. Next thing was this. I wanted to do some kinda fading and peeling of paint and some soot streaks. I painted the model with Scratching Effect fluid. Then I put a light coat of ENAMEL (!!!) Humbrol's dark grey paint. Straight after that I took soft brush, dipped it in water and moved it down the freshly painted surface. Effect is different than acrylic paint (which would be a simple chipping technique) and very interesting. Check for yourself. Getting close to an end. Thanks for watching. Dawid. dawkuk
Hiya. Last post before moving to RFI!!! Got some pigments on... I started with lighter earth tones, but this will be gradually build into darker matter. Wheels done. Next step was the glasses in turret, which I've painted dark blue. Windshield has also been put in place. As well as headlights. Ok. There's few little things to be done, but I'll show them in RFI. Thanks for staying in tune.
