Top one is an MG Midget, an early one

Actually it's an Austin Healey Sprite . If you look closely It's got a Frogeye Sprite rear end . I think it's  some sort of Sebring Sprite , or a replica thereof

Went off to Ipswich/Sussex/Cambridgeshire today.

I can't remember all the locations but, spots were....

Blue TR3.

2 '80's BMW 630 type coupe's parked up.

Orange Singer Chamois (posh Imp) on the back of a truck.

De Tomaso Pantera in YELLOW! on the A1 Southbound looking like a big girl in a party frock.

Messerschmitt micro car on the A1. Outside lane so maybe a Tiger? heading South.

There was something else, but it's been a long day & I simply cannot remember what it was!

Looks more like an A.C. Ace to me.

No defo a Sprite. Back end from a Frogeye, then follow the line of the sill, which curves up behind the front wheelarch. That cockpit area was common through the range, and utilised by Panther in the Lima and Kallista. The doors and screen surround were taken straight off the late Midget.

If it was an Ace, the grille would have a pronounced upward curve across the top.

It was obviously trailer day on the M40 this morning as the following classics were all be trailered around:

  • 2 MGBGTs
  • VW Type 2 split screen van
  • A Jaguar XK120

Both the MGs were in good shape, and the XK was immaculate, but the poor old VW was in need of some serious TLC.

Masking up the A-10 on Bentwaters this morning. A Sierra Cosworth, an early Mustang ragtop, and a Mk5 Escort with a parachute brake on the back. By the noise it was making, and the size of the power bulge on the hood, I suspect it needed it. Chap with a compound on the base does drag racing, and collects American muscle cars.
