Spot of the day!

Recommended Posts

I had a McLaren MP4 follow me round the M25 and down the M40 all the way to the A43 this evening.

Good job I was in the C1 or he could have caught me!

It looked to be super car Thursday on the M25 as beside the MP4 there were a brace of late model Ferraris and Porsches.

Classic Ford Show at Santa Pod this weekend which would account for all the additional Fords in Northants. Going there myself tomorrow with a shopping list for the Fiesta.

There's a Forza Italia day at a farm near Rugby on Sunday as well, I'll be there in my Abarth 595

Yesterday in Boston near the railway station.

On a driveway behind a caravan I think I saw

the rear end of an Oldsmobile Toronado.

(1960's V8 front wheel drive for those who don't know).

Today heading towards Horncastle, a large red rectangular

convertible with the top down which I think was an early 60's

Chevrolet or Oldsmobile.

A white Morris Traveller on a V plate. It appears to have been imported from Thailand as there were a number of Thai stickies in the window and it also had a Thai number plate?

On our way to and from the W Norfolk model show today, we passed an assortment of classics heading to a rally at Euston in Suffolk there were some early VWs, including a split screen pickup. A lovely Daimler and late 30's Rolls convertibles, a TR6, a Stag, a Triumph 2000, a Healey 3000, and Cpl Jones' Butchers van, which lives in nearby Thetford. They don't like it up 'em.

At my mate's garage on Saturday morning , there were 4 Mk2 Escorts , a Jaguar E-Type & , most surprisingly , a K reg Morris Marina 1.3 automatic .  Can't remember when I last saw a Marina - thought they'd all collapsed in a rotting heap .  This one was an absolute minter .

On my cycle back from visiting my mum yesterday I saw:

  • 1961(?) Corvette
  • Lancia Delta Integrale
  • Triumph Stag
  • A real rarity – a 60s Red Mini Cooper STILL with its BLACK roof (I think that was the standard factory combo for red cars in the day, red/white was for BMC works cars) with a straight cut ‘box – hopefully the occupants either weren’t going very far or had earplugs!

And on Friday as I left work I saw a Bristol Beaufighter – not the WW2 plane but the rather boxy 70s?-90s? car.

Cheers

Will

Yesterday in a Halford's Car Park, A '63 Ferrari 250 of some kind, not a GTO, but pretty and gloriously loud!

Today on the way home a Triumph Stag towing a box trailer. looked in good nick as well. The car, not the trailer... :)

Cheers, Alan.

I too saw a Stag, but on Monday

somewhere in Cambridgeshire.

Today in a pub car park in Navenby,

Lincs, was a lovely green Alfa spider 1600.

No ugly rubber spoiler on the boot & LHD.

This afternoon, about lunch time;

a 1954 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn

a 1958 Bentley S-type

both dressed up for a wedding; but running empty, either going to collect of had dropped off the victims, er... happy couple

I'm trying to hunt down a small car I spotted two days ago, just a glimpse; smallish hatch-back with an overall tiger stripe paint job

also a Smart car done totally in artifical grass

I reckon there's a few grassy Smartycars.

A local gardner had one converted to a van and had a matching trailer. I haven't seen that one for a couple of years tho
