activexp
The first thing that struck me about this kit was the size of the box, it's massive for a massive model! No idea where I'm going to display the thing when it's completed The chassis with transmission and suspension fitted with a 1/35 Land Rover to give an idea of the size of this thing. It's disappointing that there's no engine and the drive shafts to the front axle are also absent. The metal coil springs suggests that the suspension works, it doesn't I'm using Humbrol 237 light dessert tan which is probably a little too light. The decals are very poor for a modern kit, very thin and reluctant to slide off the backing paper even after a 10 minute soak. I added some floor mats from stick back plastic.
activexp
A little more progress on this build, the gun turret.
RichO
Steve, Big kit man!! I always thought the 1/16 kits were for the RC crowed. No working suspension? The dash looks good tho. good job.
activexp
Big and heavy which is why I think they made the suspension solid. Those springs are quite weak
activexp
A small update, interior fitted.
activexp
So far this build is going well, everything fits perfectly and not too many small fiddly parts, ideal for my sausage fingers and old eyes. The doors are hinged with metal pins.

goggsy
That's one big kit, following with interest. Could it be motorised in theory?
activexp
That's one big kit, following with interest. Could it be motorised in theory? I doubt it but maybe an experienced scratch builder might be able to do something with it.
