I really like the fading effects on the paint and the light exhaust stains and...and...

Is this aircraft take-off assisted with rockets?

Yes, it is.

How behaved the decals for the walkways?

Mine just fell apart (probably just me ;) )

I had no problems with decals. I never use a force to move a decal on wet paper. If it does not move when touched, I just give it more time. Then I slide it on wet (Gunze decal liquid) surface of the model and gently slide it to position. Finally I touch the liquid with a piece of paper towel to take away the liquid and let the decal sit in the surface.
