foxy
Today two 18 Pdr carronades arrived from Cornwall Model Boats. So it was to these and the ratlines I concentrated on. I am also adding two 4 Pdr Cannon. Primed the cannon and painted gloss black, later will use Admiralty black . Made up the trucks and added eyelets from Dafis etched parts. Then made up the 4 pounder cannon. These will have KGV motives added later. foxy
foxy
A change of plan yet again, but only with the gun arrangement. Two 32 Pdr Carronades and Eight 18 Pdr carronades. For the 32s I have reduced the truck thickness. Sanded down the lower trucks and stand. Sits much better. Just waiting on Cornwall Model Boats for the six remaining 18 Pdrs. Near finished the ratlines. So nearer to finishing once a friend of mine has procured the wood for the base. foxy
Gremlin56
The carronades and 18 pounders are magic Frank (I do recognize my old Gran's hair-clips holding things together in one of the photos).
rollsroyce
Hi Foxy Just caught up on this build after being away. An amazing amount of work and the rigging looks as if it would all work. Superb. Cannonades look really good as well. Brilliant work and thanks for sharing Cheers Guy
foxy
Thanks Dan,Kev, Julian, Beefy and Guy matey's. Well the rest of the carronade's have arrived and so its mass production time, 'well six of them'. Working on the rigging and have the base on with the plaque coming tomorrow. So were well on the way to finishing this 'for me' very exciting build, have learnt a lot for my next one. A picture of the overall work so far. Will not be adding any sails to this, but did think of putting the Gaff sail on!!!!.'Later'. Still to add the anchors/one boat to stern, standard flag and some more rigging. foxy

foxy
Cheers Kev mate. Well its done on the carronades. All on but for the roping. Anchors aboard, but for the davit boom blocks. Gaf boom all tied down. So off into the night. Boat davits next and flag standard. Some more rigging and I am done. foxy.

foxy
Thanks Julian. Well other than the plaque which is not ready yet and a few more rope/tackle, its finished. Did add some plastic figures in the end. So this well armed Brig waiting on its new sails and the crew at shore leave, some exercise is needed for the rest of the crew. Based in Portsmouth and most of the 120 Officers and crew of this privateers ship, will be looking for good pickings in the Channel, plenty of prize money too. So Captain Palmer has his work cut out. Hope you like. foxy Edited October 1, 2016 by foxy More Information
