You have done the straps correctly, well on my day sack they are green in colour. On the Osprey body armour they are MTP. Just checked some photos of mine. It was sat on my desk at work and I thought it would look far better painted, the scrim is the foil from a wine bottle. I have since repainted with a lightened olive drab and already it's looking better, even though every time you deploy your entitled to all new kit most people don't take it all. Desert boots are still a common sight, as the last time I deployed brown boots were quite new so not everybody got them. Hopefully my MTP will turn out as good as yours.
