Andy Moore
Bandai's latest addition to their Star Wars range. For my money this is the best one they've done so far, with the fit being perfect, and the breakdown of parts being completely logical. This one isn't lit but it would be a pretty simple job to do, as Bandai have conveniently moulded the engine inserts in clear plastic. The included Turbolaser turret is the icing on the cake. OK, it's not to scale with the A-Wing, but that would have been unfeasible anyway, but it makes a great display piece in it's own right. Everything's painted predominantly with a mix of Gunze and Tamiya and weathered with AMMO and AK enamels and oil paints. Oh, and of course there's International Man of Mystery, Mr Flatty, seen here with his somewhat low rent sidekick Nigel the Mouse Droid Thanks for looking Andy

Orangesherbert
Great work sir. Amazing detail and I lIkea the modulation in the paintwork, as in, there's not just one colour when you look closely at it. If you catch my drift. Love the back end. Top job.
ScootyPuffJunior
Awesome as always! Though I will say I'm disappointed that there was no WIP thread for this model, I was really looking forward to one.
PhantomMajor
How detailed is the cockpit interior?
Andy Moore
Thanks for the comments guys How detailed is the cockpit interior? It's about average for a 1/72 Bandai kit, There's a bit of moulded detail on the instrument panel, and the pilot's pretty good although his hands aren't well detailed, which seems to be the norm for Bandai I didn't go overboard with detail painting, partly because I'm crap at painting 1/72 figures and partly because you can't really see much in the cockpit as it's so narrow and cramped. Val
Amazing work! Stunning!! I've just picked this kit up myself and I'm equally perplexed by Mr Flatty!!

Madmonk
As usual, top drawer Andy!! Wish I was as crap as you at painting 1:72 figures. At least Flat Eric was easy!! Got a couple myself so plan to light one and then do the other in the original concept artwork scheme
R0ver
Absolutely superb as always, & the weathering came out stunning. And like Madmonk above, I wish I was just as crap at painting 1/72 figures too!

Mindmax
Hi Andy, This looks really great. I love the weathering and the colours you have choosen. It looks better than the original! And hey, another turbolaser, how nice! Have you built lights into your model? On the first photo the engines are glowing yellow-orange. Thank you! Andy Moore
Hi Andy, This looks really great. I love the weathering and the colours you have choosen. It looks better than the original! And hey, another turbolaser, how nice! Have you built lights into your model? On the first photo the engines are glowing yellow-orange. Thank you! Mindmax Thanks Mark, No, I didn't light this one. I might do another and light that. For the first shot I shone a maglite up the nozzles to illuminate them. There were actually three shots used. One without extra lighting, one with the left engine lit and one with the right engine lit. The nozzle areas were then merged with the unlit shot. Is that beige and red? There are quite a few shades on it, but the main colours were Gunze Off White and Flat White with a little Gunze Sail for the white parts, and Gunze Russet, Tamiya Flat Red and Tamiya Hull Red for the red areas. Always nice to see your Bandai stuff (and anything else for that matter). Do you ever sleep? No, it's just down to a complete lack of any social life Mike Andy

Orangesherbert
Just looking at the thread again. I like the sponging of what looks like an enamel wash? I likey that.Have always wondered why the A -Wing never got an R2 unit? Looks like theres a couple of F-16 air intakes in the rear as well. Top job.

bigfoot
That's outstanding Andy, well up to your usual standard. Nice subtle differences on the main colours, keeps it from being monotone and a little dull as can easily happen with 'simple' colour schemes. I hadn't realised they'd released the A-wing, another one to add to the list....
