Airfix Fw190 A-8 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi all-

Haven't posted on Britmodeller for a while- this is my third build of the year, Airfix's Fw190 A-8. A great little kit (though not without it's challenges..) After seeing some great Fw190's on here I also decided to check out the excellent Eduard 190 A-8, posting soon.

That's absolutely stunning Dave. And really well photographed.

I'm working on one now. Can you tell me which paints you used as the colours look spot on?

Ian

Andy.

Andy Meister- thank you very much! ...what is this PLW you speak of?? -D.

Great work, very realistic paint job.

Well done

Thank you James.

Are you sure that's 1/72? And Airfix as well? I failed with mine.

Thanks Darby ..I know what you mean- I nearly failed on this one too!

I had to double check that it was the model! Seriously nice work and weathering. The photography pulls it off too.

Regards,

Adrian

Thanks very much Adrian.

Beautiful Wurger! I have one of these I've been working on, but it won't come out as nicely as yours.

Jason

Nicely done! :goodjob:

I see you've slimmed down the wing trailing edge. I did the same on the one I built, it makes a such a difference to the look of the model.

Thank you very much Dave!

PWL = Panel line wash Most of us, me inclusive exaggerate this wash, to make all engraved lines visible! You not, so thats why it looks so realistic! From wich company is this hangar? Please let me know.

All the best

Nice build!! I especially like the lighting along with the hangar. It does look like it was being lit by an appropriate light source in a real hangar. The mottling and the detail paint work is pretty astounding too.

Looks like a fully restored warbird to me. Is this really in1.72nd scale?

Looks great in its "hanger" :pilot:

Ah PLW- I see! I tend to use it in very small amounts, mostly for hatches/removable panels.

The hangar I made from some corrugated card, wooden coffee stirrers and some flat card for the steel girders- it's a work in progress... All the best, Dave
