kpnuts
Hi all well I'm enjoying the 1/8 hot rod immensely and I think it has rekindled my mojo so I've made a start on this (still not confident enough to do any more to my ships) firstly a warning to all, careful how you stack your stash, this was OK when I put it away but there were 4 heavyish kits on it. Those who know me will know I hardly ever do as the box art.
roymattblack
I will be following this one... I wanted to buy this kit when I was in Hyannis last year. There's an amazing model shop on the edge of town, next to a wine shop (Liquor store) - how amazing is THAT!!! They had this kit for $35 but I had already bought several kits and umpteen die-cast cars, and this one just would NOT go in my suitcase!!! I've been tempted by it ever since. Looking flippin' good so far. Roy. Edited June 27, 2016 by roymattblack
triumphfan
I'll watch along as this made it into my stash too. I sort of like what you have done with the paint work as well. Atb, Steve.
vrsmatt99
Ill be watching this too! I was actually looking at this kit yesterday and was very tempted. Looks like a great start! Cheers Matt
kpnuts
Hi all I've had a blue Peter moment with this kit, I've heard of bmf and thought maybe i could make some. Take a reel of double sided sticky tape and stick it to the back of some bacofoil Cut from the tape side (the foil all rucks up if you try it from the foil side.

kpnuts
Hi all an update on this one. Just dropped the body on to see the effect nothing glued in place yet.
roymattblack
Looking really nice but I would dust in a touch more of the gold/yellow colour down the nose of the car, on the left hand side. The pictures make it look as if the centre 'stripe' curves to one side at the front. A dash of the gold colour misted over the edge of the centre stripe at the front will sort it. Lovely colour scheme. Roy.
kpnuts
Thanks Roy, I know it's glaringly obvious now but I hadn't noticed it
Brundledonk
Lovely paintwork Ken ! I wasn't sure how it was going to look when I saw the pics of just the lower stripe but now you've got the roof and hood done I can see where you are going and those colours really work well together ( looks fantastic mate ) I didn't spot the slight curve ( good eye Roy ) but it doesn't look like it will be a biggie to fix Love the DIY bare metal foil too, great idea Looking really nice Ken, keep going and it will be a beauty. kpnuts
Hi all I need some help choosing wheels, there are 3 sets in the kit and I've put the gt 500 wheels with it too. For easiness please just say 1,2,3 or 4 Edited June 30, 2016 by kpnuts
MetroRacing
I've wondered about this kit as it's something I would like to build in a larger scale but have always been put off by the Foose elements as I really don't like what he does with cars 90% of the time. But can this be built as a stock Camaro? Ashley Edited June 30, 2016 by MetroRacing
paul_c
The bottom set of wheels for me (#4). The others just look to big, almost 'donk' like and spoil the classic shape. Loving your work though, very smart. Edited July 1, 2016 by paul_c
Alpha Delta 210
Great progress and cool scheme. My vote is for wheels #3 - they look more in proportion and suit the car more.
kpnuts
Hi all well my son came round today for a bbq (his sisters birthday) and I showed him this he said there's only one colour scheme for a camaro and that's black and yellow, I said no this is the older version but he gave me a lecture about how at the beginning of the film he had the older version it only transformed to the new on later in the film. Anyway it's my model and this is how it's staying, here's tonight's bit.
kpnuts
Hi all the engine is complete, I must say this is a really great kit, part fit is good, the chrome plating is also very good, and the detail is excellent, I would recommend this to anyone. kpnuts
Hi all, well here is tonight's bit, can someone tell me why this car has 4 peddles, never seen that before, I'm guessing handbrake?
triumphfan
Pedal 4 is parking brake. That is the equivalent of our 'Handbrake'. Great progress, the interior looks very smart. Atb, Steve.
kpnuts
Hi all well I've made a bit of a booby on this, tried polishing the paint to get a better shine and on the side I polished through to the primer a bit so will have to get some more pound land silver, anyway here is the latest update. This kit seems to be going together very well, all seems to be a good fit, I must admit she's a beautiful looking car, not really surprising it was designed at the peak of American car design, before all car manufacturers started to build cars that were indistinguishable from their rivals, I love this period and before when you could tell one car from another at 300 yards, whereas nowadays you have to get within 10 feet to tell if it's a Ford or a Citroën.
