I promised to enter this GB and was really looking forward to doing something quite adventurous but it looks like work and family commitments will get in the way.

So I have scaled back my plans and come up with this using some things I had in stock/stash. Not very exiting but doable in the timescale.VGB%201_zpskwtmoghd.jpg

I made a start on the infantrymen.

Hi Silver Fox and welcome to the Vignette GB. It's a shame you're not going to get the time you wanted but what you've got there looks like it should make a good mini vignette. These 1/48 Tamiya kits are excellent. And I've got the same set of figures for use with my IS-2 build - Tamiya kindly provide quite a few figures with equipment in the box.

Looking forward to seeing this come together.

Kind regards,

Stix

Some more progress this morning. I have finished one of the figures or at least got him ready for weathering. So with the base dried I thought I'd try to come up with some basic composition.

I guess Ivan is telling Yuri to watch out the fascists are just ove the next rise.

More time last night and this morning got me this far.

The BA-64 is built and has the base coat of paint on.

This morning started the weathering process with some Vallo pigments. I am not sure if I am going to go for the remenents of a white camouflague yet but either way the hull would be filthy.

Thats all for the time being, I'm away from home or working until Monday

I do like the weathering effects you have achieved. I must get hold of some pigments - I have never tried any.

Kind regards,

I've been back at the workbench for a couple of day so I have managed to finish the 'props'.

Now to start the groundwork proper.

I hope to make it look like a muddy spring day with the last snows of winter hanging on.

Good to see more progress on the base. Looking forward to seeing it with some snow. I will be interested to see how the static grass snow works.

Kind regards,

I've experimented with the flock snow, although it isn't marvellous, it has done it's job.

I'm calling this done. I've added some varnish icy to the ground work but that isn't visible on the photos.

Thanks for all the encouragement and kind comments. Thanks also to the hosts for running this enjoyable GB. I'll try to post some better focussed pictures in the gallery

First in the Gallery!! Well done - especially as this is the first of this different type of GB for Britmodeller.

And what a great result! I think the combination of your weathering on the vehicle and the snow and ground effects has really created an atmospheric scene. Thank you for taking part and very well done.

Kind regards,

Stix
