Italeri Paints for an old Airfix Fiat G.50.

I'd like to drag this off the shelf of shame & have a go at completing it, I stalled in the paint stage, not being happy with my equivalents. After looking on the Stormo website, I'd decided it should have a 3 colour camo scheme in Giallo Mimetico 3, Marrone Mimetico 2 & Verde Mimetico 3. I've bought the Italeri paints for GM3 & what I take to be MM2 but labelled as MM1, I think Italeri might have this back to front  but they had no VM3 in their line up, I can probably find a close enough shade among my Vallejo Model Colour paints for that. I want to use the original Airfix decals for a 352 squadriglia machine in a scheme something like this or this . Its not had much improvement lavished on it but I like these wee machines & this one had been hid away for quite long enough. Has anybody got any comments re my colour choice & recommendations for an unserside colour, I'n guessing Grigio Mimetico & if so a paint recommendation?

I've got a book somewhere with Humbrol mixes and approximate FS595 equivalents for WW2 Italian cammo colours. I can try to dig this out for you and see what it says if that helps?

Thanks Mitch & Stew, I'd forgotten that one Stew & I'm guessing Mitch that your book may contain much the same or not? I'd be interested if it has anything else to offer. I guess I was after some feedback from someone with knowledge of Italian colors & how the Italeri paints related too them.

I see that the IPMS Stockholm chart matches MM2 with Humbrol 107 which is WW1 German Purple, supposedly a decent substitute for RLM 81 too & one that I have picked up as a part set of WW1 Authentics which has an unopened tin of this. All the excuse I needed to open it. :)

Verde Mimetico 3 is metioned as very close to today's FS 34102. This is the lighter of the two greens in the USAF SEA scheme, so very easy to find in most paint ranges.

The grey used under the G.50 was indeed Grigio Mimetico. This is very close to today's FS 36231, possible paints are Humbrol 140 and Italeri 4755

Marrone Mimetico 2 is a red brown, jut to give you an idea it's the colour I use to paint Spitfire plastic seats... I agree that Italeri seems to have inverted the names, their Marrone Mimetico 2 does not look right while the other one (4640) looks right to me
