Popular Post bearmatt
Hello there,I started the Spartan about 3 years ago and this is now my second rollout for 2016 (which is already quite a lot for me...) It took me sweat and blood to finish it and almost landed in the trash bin, after a serious incident with a hot spotlight...But, I managed to save her and proceeded to the very end.As for the kit - it is from Italeri (1/72) and...well, not the best fit. But ok, the guys from Italeri did a good job all in all. Details are more than ok and they were bold enough to produce a plane like this, that is not that popular after all (imho). And still better than any resin kit...The decal-sheet is from Ronin Decals. Never worked with decals thin like this. They are excellent, but one has to be very careful and patient, because they tend a lot to "roll over". Other than that, they resist to a proper amount of tear, unless you really mess it up. Nevertheless, there is a drawback for this sheet. I found the walkway color tone being wrong. So I had to mask everything (which was probably anyways better and smarter, but a lot of work)The colors came from AK and it's the first time I've been working with these. They are pretty good, have a very good adherence and the color tone seems to be spot on. (again imho)I used as suggested by the decals sheet FS36099 / FS35237.Aftermarket parts came from Eduard ED73394 (Detail Set) and Eduard EDCX281 (Mask)Ok, enough of writing, I hope you enjoy my effort and on to the pics: Edited June 24, 2016 by bearmatt 100

tonyot
Looks superb,..... I have one of these planned myself and I hope that it turns out as well as yours. You`ve done a brilliant job,..... did you build it straight from the box or did you have to make any additions? Cheers Tony

vh-bob
A lovely build, well worth saving from the bin, only you would know about the problems that you had, it looks fine now. Although the RAAF have received their first deliveries, I have yet to see one. Well done, Trev.

Doc72
I like your discreet weathering: some dirt on the walkways and traces of bird droppings on the tail fin (if I am not mistaken).

eng
Absolutely beautiful! These kits look beautiful when built up, mines part complete in the loft and seeing this I really want to finish it now. It's very tempting to build it in "what if" RAF markings, similar to the Herc's. Well done on a fantastic bit of work. Eng

Mountain goat
Your effort certainly paid off handsomely. I love how there is no visible seam between fuselage and cockpit transparencies. Very tidy work. On the whole a stunning Spartan, with a very pretty camouflage. The amount of weathering looks just right. All in all: applause! Ascoteer
Very nice! I always liked the G222 family from the first time I met them in Brindisi. I love the Palouste btw, where did you get it from?
Alan Sannazzaro
That is absolutely stunning modelling. Brilliant work. The lines on the modern transports are so nice, and your modelling has captured it perfectly.
Air-to-Air
A beautiful model. Well done. I am very impressed with your work on the cockpit glass, the paintwork, the diorama...pretty much everything really. It may have taken some time to complete and been frustrating at times but it was well worth it.
