Wirraway conversion

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Here is the Wirraway that I have done in 1/144.
It is a conversion of the available T-6 Texan from either Platz or F-toys.
I have changed the wing and fuselage and the other pieces use the donor kits parts.
Here new rudder and Mg bulges added:EQ8woD.jpg

Interior framing added (I made a copy of the interior framing from a Foxone Lysander kit as a basis for the framing). It looks messy but once painted it gives the right effect:

To represent the quite noticeable fuselage ribbing I cast thin layers of the Lysander fuselage which had suitable ribbing effect and sanded it until it was almost transparent:

The wing was cut and straightened as well as having the tips extended and rounded (with pieces from a Minicraft Ju88 kit!)i4SgSw.jpg

Wing and fuselage master finished. I have added the pronounced wing strengthening rib as well as the added Oil cooler and extra air cooler intake to the side of the cowling:

Painted in Polly scale RAAF paints and interior turnover protection cage added as well as some weathering done:ENWkxi.jpg

Cockpit added (used the F-toys one):n1jaRY.jpg

Need to add the aircraft letter 'D' as well as 3 bladed prop, large radio antenna and aerial and that should be it!
