theplasticsurgeon
Resuming the GB with this kit.Fujimi's Sea Harrier. All options are EDSG over White, which makes this build firmly pre April 1982, and very firmly located in Europe. I'm planning that winged fist of 899NAS option, that was busy training pilots to take on the Bear.In keeping with the spirit of this GB being European Theatre, anyone who mentions a group of islands in the South Atlantic, or anything April 1982 of afterwards will owe me a kit that's all in the future!Anyway here are some of the parts. The box contain virtually every leftover store from all my Harrier builds ever, but no decent gunpods. And this is the option I'm planning to build. Edited June 19, 2016 by theplasticsurgeon
theplasticsurgeon
And here are some related completions. First a Matchbox Sea Harrier in same scheme, with 700A decals. Another Matchbox, with 800NAS decals. Both from an ancient SAM decal sheet. And a Fujimi Harrier GR3 of 1417Flight, Belize.
theplasticsurgeon
This kit cost me 2 whole pounds, from Kit Rescue in 2009. And I've just realised it's missing the seat, tub, and instrument panel. Hoping to proceed with a seat from my spares, and scratch the rest of the interior. Plan X is to ignore the interior, and black out the canopy.
theplasticsurgeon
I've found this period photo of the 'plane I'm going to build. That silver around the aux air intakes is ducktape, to avoid rain getting in. Anyway, let's start building a model. Here are prepared cockpit and pilot parts. Pilot is probably from a Hasegawa kit. And here's the assembled nosecone, completed with pilot (Canopy has been dryfitted over him). Pilot fills that cockpit void perfectly.
theplasticsurgeon
A bit further along with the assembly of major components. Then assemble them into something resembling a Sea Harrier. This model is gap city.
