M_Sinclair
Something WEIRD happened to me today. Like, REALLY flippin weird. So weird that "weird" should be in italics. I'm posting pictures of a COMPLETED model. Mark this day on your calendar folks, I know I will. Only about five decals were used in total and they all were on BB-8. The X-wing itself has zero decals and as a result, zero clear coats. That's a first for me. Thanks for looking! -matt Edited June 8, 2016 by M_Sinclair
Madhatter
Very nicely done! Looks fantastic Are those kill markings decals or did you paint them?
Andy Moore
Absolutely stunning Matt. All the chipping and weathering gels together so well on the finished build. By far the best T-70 I've seen. Beautiful photography too. Andy

M_Sinclair
Very nicely done! Looks fantastic Are those kill markings decals or did you paint them? Thanks! It was paint. I used an old Verlinden scribing template as a stencil. 20160531-MJS_4652 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Absolutely stunning Matt. All the chipping and weathering gels together so well on the finished build. By far the best T-70 I've seen. Beautiful photography too. Andy Thank you very much Andy. You were as much an inspiration on this build as the x-wing from the movie itself. Can't wait to see you wrap up the red T-65! Damn!!!! that's the prettiest Black leader Ive ever seen to date! 1. Its BLACK (a perfect shade) 2. It looks huge! Studio scale at least 3. the paint/colors look spot on! Weathering and chipping is to die for! 4. BB8 is leaning into the G forces!!! 5. You make want to puke its so good! Good God man that's a perfect X-wing! Seriously, Read the above! NICE!!!!!!!! Thanks! As far as number 2 on your list, that may be from trying to shoot the model at a wider focal length for several of the photos. I noticed Mr Andy Moore doing such with some of his so I gave it a try. I must say I'm a little overwhelmed at all the positive feedback. Many many thanks everyone! It was a pleasure to have so many of you following the build as we got to this point together. It took a little longer then expected, but believe it or not this is by far one of the fastest builds I ever completed. As I hinted to earlier, today I went ahead and tweaked her a little. I removed the navigation lights. Painted some silver where they had been sitting, then glued them back on. I wound up adding one antenna to BB-8. In reality he has two but I figure the thinner antenna would just wind up looking too big for the scale. Did a little more weathering here and there. And so now I'm calling her 100% done! You can see BB-8 with the new antenna. 20160608-MJS_4856 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Probably my favorite part of the model is how the streaking came out on the underside of the wings. So I took a couple photos to better show that area off. 20160608-MJS_4854 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr In case anyone is thinking that the orange looks a little yellow, rest assured it is indeed orange in person. I'm just terrible when it comes to colour correction. Or maybe the colour is fine and it's just my monitor that's off. 20160608-MJS_4850 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr I'm not sure why, but I love this angle. Even compared to other wide angle shots I took, looks bigger here to me. 20160608-MJS_4862 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr This angle (which I also really like) proves two things. I either need a bigger backdrop or I need to learn more about photoshop. 20160608-MJS_4873 by _m_sinclair, on Flickr Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate all the input and comments. I've absolutely no idea what I will build next. I like cars, planes, tanks and space themes. But whatever it may be, I'll be sure to share it here. -matt Edited June 9, 2016 by M_Sinclair
