Mick4350
Just bought this magazine ( April 2016 ) from my local newsagency and noticed a very big stuff up with their " Aircraft in Profile " , Handley Page Jetstream on page 48 where the whole page is pixelated and is unreadable as is the review on page 81 about the Frrom-Azur Breguet Alize where the bottom three images are so pixelated the images are nearly impossible to view. How do these errors occur ? Edited June 2, 2016 by Mick4350
unlikeKansas
Just bought this magazine ( April 2016 ) from my local newsagency and noticed a very big stuff up with their " Aircraft in Profile " , Handley Page Jetstream on page 48 where the whole page is pixelated and is unreadable as is the review on page 81 about the Frrom-Azur Breguet Alize where the bottom three images are so pixelated the images are nearly impossible to view. How do these errors occur ? Just looked at my electronic copy of the mag. No problems with page 48, but the bottom image on page 81 is slightly pixellated, but still viewable. Perhaps they send their rubbish copies out to Oz on the assumption that we're all convicts and can't read anyway.
Flankerman
My printed copy is OK on page 48 - no pixelation at all. The bottom image on page 81 is pixelated - but viewable. I don't understand how two different prints of the same image can be so different - surely it's the original image that is pixelated, not the printed copy ?? Perhaps an email to the magazine might be in order ? Ken
stevehnz
The one I looked at in the news agents locally was also thus, I left it there. Steve.
dwh
Very slight pixellation on my copy, but it does not stop it from being read.
Mick4350
Yes I gave Guideline a telephone call and the receptionist went and had a look at a bundle of the magazines and said that they were all the same. She said that it must have been a low image quality provided and printed out in what should have a higher quality image and no one picked it up when the magazine was printed en masse and everyone has been lumped with the poorer quality images in that particular issue. stevehnz
Maybe Guideline could look at emailing an HD image of the affected pages to those who register dissatisfaction. I'd be OK with that. Steve.
Mick4350
I received an email from the editor of the magazine Gary Hatcher in which he states that he proofed the artwork and passed it on and a lo-res version was inserted before printing. Ordinary he would have picked that up and he did a final check through at about 60% on a laptop at the last minute and missed it. He also said that there are plans to reprint all this years AIPs in a book and he will make sure that some extras are done of that page.
Seahawk
He also said that there are plans to reprint all this years AIPs in a book and he will make sure that some extras are done of that page. Good! He can count on hearing from me. Pity to have this problem on the one article I bought the magazine for but good on Gary for a good honest hands-up response. roys
I would have no objection if they reprinted the whole article in a future issue with an explanation
