SmashedGlass
What, and who's, photoetch fret is that which includes the nifty cutouts for molding lights????
Nigel Heath
Its the Eduard fret left over from my Osprey build. Eduard seem to often incorporate those shaped cut outs in their frets.
Nigel Heath
Today I removed the sandwich bag from the tail and masked up the tail planes ready for the RLM 76 on the underside: That's them painted: While that was drying I added the red dots to the wheels: I have now run out of things to do on this hence the early update. I might have a look in the stash for my next project. Bye for now, Nigel
Jake Moon
Looking very sharp, Nigel. As ever, your masking is incredibly impressive. (Also I vote for that Henschel Hs-132...)
AlexN
That airframe really does look underpowered in that ventral photo in post no. 78 above. A bit of a sitting duck without extra rockets (no sign of ratogs either).

A bit of a sitting duck without extra rockets (no sign of ratogs either).Looks like it needs an extra two engines like the Arado.Must invest in one if those compass cutters.
AlexN
I had that lovely Revell 1/32 Hs-132 kit in my collection and foolishly sold it, sniffle sniffle, sob sob. Looking on the bright side, however, I get to watch a Master at work on it without having to buy another one. Vicarious-Pleasures-R-Us. Oh no, I had three Arado kits too, plus detail sets - two Hasegawa, one Revell. Aaargh!
jrlx
Brilliant progress, Nigel. The clean and smooth paint job is truly impressive! Well done Cheers Jaime
Nigel Heath
Today I started the masking for the RLM 02 to go in the gear bays, a blob of White Tack took care of the periscope: Here they are all ready for some paint: Then painted along with all the landing gear parts: Next I gave all the parts a Dark Dirt wash and then removed the masking The next job was then masking for the upper surface colours: I managed to get the first colour on, RLM 82 Light Green: That can now harden up overnight. The final job of the day was to put some chrome on all the hydraulic struts: That's as far as I've got today. Bye for now, Nigel

Nigel Heath
Today I got the masking for the second camo colour done, it's a splinter scheme but with slightly wavy lines and fuzzy edges so I used more White Tack sausages: Here's the RLM 75 applied, not forgetting the pitot tube: As soon as the grey was touch dry I got her unmasked, taa-daa: Now I just have to do the spots along the length of the fuselage using my airbrush with its 0.15mm nozzle fitted but I think that's a job for tomorrow. Bye for now, Nigel
Sgt.Squarehead
Very nice Nige.....What pressure do you spray mottle at? I've tried both mottling and soft AFV camo at around 18-22psi (paint consistency of skimmed milk), but the results have been rather variable.....I've been advised that a higher pressure might actually work better.
Nigel Heath
I was going to use 15psi, I would have thought lower pressure would be better?
CedB
Very nice Nigel and looking forward to the mottling. I would think lower pressure's better too - you need to get close and higher will cause 'star bursts' won't it?
Nigel Heath
Yes I would have thought so, I also call them "spiders". Nasty little blighters.
Spookytooth
Personally, I would do a series of tests to see which works the best, but a lower pressure seems the right side to go. Just my opinion though. Still she is coming along fine Nigel . Simon.
Jake Moon
Loving this so far. The white tail really looks sharp with the scheme.
Sgt.Squarehead
Spiders have been my main issue.....Nothing kills a camo scheme like an obvious splat! I've tried a variety of paints/consistencies/pressures, but haven't yet found a combination that reliably eliminates the problem.....Of course I may just be cack handed!
