DogTailRed2
I want to wipe down my model, to remover finger prints, prior to priming with Alclad II black primer. Will Isopropyl Alcohol affect Alclad Primer or Paints and should I use it in this manner? Many thanks.
dogsbody
When you posted " IPA", my first thought was India Pale Ale and I was thinking that it probably wouldn't do your Alclad much good. Chris
Stew Dapple
Hi mate, IPA shouldn't affect the Alclad (Alclad is laquer/cellulose based not alcohol-based). IPA is great for de-greasing, I use it in place of the soapy-water-sprue-wash before starting a kit. Cheers, Stew
viscount806x
Probably not but why not try it on a painted sample patch first to give 100% confidence. If it works OK, award yourself one of Chris Dogsbody's India Pale Ales by way of a small celebration....
Tomjw
It'll be fine. I do the same. Just make sure the IPA has completely dried before applying the primer. Hth, Tom.
