I have a couple of builds that I am calling done. Not to the standard of many builds but I have enjoyed them. Neither kits is exactly new & the are built out of the box. the F-15 is an A version from Soesterburg (kit by Monogram) and the F/A-18 (boxed as an A-18 also by Monogram) is from Pt. Mugu base of the Navy Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron. Both 1/48.

Trying (not very successfully) to use my HAS as a background

Both of them with the HAS as a diaorama

Thank you for the kind comments guys.

Looking good! I have the F 18 in my stash, what was the build like?

Not bad to build, just a few things that might be worth thinking about. I ditched the connected tail horizontals and fitted them on a new bar fed through after the body went together. Otherwise the main issue is the mold lines and the join under the cockpit up to the nose. Also, most panel lines are raised - you could rescribe, but I didn't. Few panel gaps but nothing some liquid green stuff couldn't hide.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll bear that in mind if life ever allows me 5 minutes to myself. Once again a pair of good lookers. Must admit to having a soft spot for Monogram

Yes, got to say the fit & finish is generally pretty good for their age - same goes for Revell although many seem to have started off in the same place. Old Esci kits tend to be cheap, but no always so nice to build - just started one.

I love Monogram kits, and your builds demonstrate quite well why: 30+ year old models, and they look damn good!

There is a lot to be said for things looking right. Lets face it, it is best part of 30 yrs since I have seen some of the jets I have built models of flying. So, seeing an F15A from Bitburg or Soesterberg flying at Mildenhall in the early 80s links nicely to a kit I probably fancied getting back then!
