Wee Beastie
Here's my finished Kinetic Su-33. OOB, with only Dream Model's cockpit set used, just for the seat belts.Ships are GHQ's 1/2400 waterline vessels.Bases are from Coastal Kits Display Bases.Paints used are Mr Paints, for the Su-33 camouflage colours, the rest are Vallejo Model Air & Akan.Gratuatious artistic licence taken with the "Russian" tow-tractor, and the second Kuznetsov carrier.Look closely at the second carrier, you'll see another Su-33 launching!Link back to WIP page - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234998282-148-kinetic-su-33-flanker-d/page-4DSC_4710 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4711 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4714 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4715 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4716 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4717 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4724 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4725 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4726 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4729 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4730 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4733 by ian gaskell, on FlickrDSC_4734 by ian gaskell, on Flickr

Flankerman
Excellent Su-33 Wee Beastie - great build and finish - plus excellent display. This is not a criticism - but maybe a heads up to others buiulding the kit...... I think the folded wings should be a bit more 'folded' - the drooped flaps should touch the vertical fins and the ESM pods should be nearer to each other... Here's my pic of a Su-33 from MAKS showing what I mean.... Like I say, I'm not having a go at your work - just trying to be helpful. If that's the way that Kinetic have moulded it ??.... Nachtwulf
Dagnabit! Now I have to get one of those! This site is nothing more than an enabler for modelholics. How am I supposed to build all of my back log of kits when stuff like this beauty keeps getting shoved in my face!

Ken Hi Ken I can see what you mean. I used your link, that you kindly posted, most of the time. I did try and work out whether what the "gap" was, from the different angles. It's not easy to gain an accurate view of perspective from a photo, even scanning through other images I found. I had an issue with the plastic wing hinge parts anyway. I my opinion, they are not really strong enough to hold the wing properly. I replaced the rear hinge with some metal rod. Once painted and weathered, it blended in. This, too, should something other builders of this kit should aware of. Cheers Ian
M_Sinclair
Always loved the curves of this fighter. Yours looks spot on! Clever use of forced perspective! -matt
