Moving on, next build will be the AFV Club M10 TD. Started this, interior done and primed. hope to get it spreayed white tonight then will look to post photos. So just 1 minor fit issue - the rear plate on the hull - but will be able to fill that...

as yet not sure what markings but, as it has the tie-points for the camouflage binding (well I assume thats what all the round mounts are on the hull) I may try and find some photos of one "foliaged up"

this is he progress.. made the mistake of adding the rear bulkhead & floor before paint - floor is OD not the same white as the rest of the interior... not to worry, will spray white then paint brush the OD

I know there are sink marks but they will all be hidden when the radio & ammo tubes(?) are in

progress... interior mostly done - hadnt noticed the fire extinguisher needs to go on the upper inside - may have placed stowage right in the way (covering a moulding flaw I should have fixed rather than hidden - way too lazy)..... not sure if it will now fit

Hello there

I'm new to the forum but have this same kit in my stash

are you going to make some 76,2mm ammo for the hull interior as unfortunately there isn't any in the kit

and will you be adding any figures (I had a serious look at some from miniart)

looking good so far.

when you say you can't get your white to flow - what are you using ? are you thinning it ?

Good start Rob - and it looks like an interesting project. :popcorn:

Cheers plas. Am getting in to kits with interiors.... Need to improve figures and look at bases and extra wiring on further projects...

Purchased the RB set of ammo..... Least it will make the interior a bit busier

I'm doing my first ever whitewash and chipping on my Nashorn. I look forward to seeing your spin on it.

Like your work so far, good luck,

Rearguards,

Rob

I find Vallejo white undercoat flows well and has a very matt finish

what airbrush do you have

I find that all Vallejo acrylics dry very quickly and if we are using a very fine brush like the Iwata super fine

we have to be careful to keep de-clogging

I have found that Tamiya acrylics thinned with alcohol are a dream to use - unbelievably smooth matt finish and they don't clog as quickly. Happy hunting for the ammo

The white is normal Vallejo white not the undercoat... Thinned with water and using flow retarder...

Amiga I avoid because of the smell really... Brush paint it tho...

Coming along very nicely Rob.

:winkgrin:

thanks...

am bouncing around all over on this one. wheels done (know they are the wrong wheels) - fully articulated. Started on the turret interior. plan is to do each section individually, paint the interior then build and touch up. RB ammo arrived - test fitting shows ithe 6 rounds will fill the turret nicely (anyone got any painting scheme for shells?)

Nice progress, Rob.

(anyone got any painting scheme for shells?)

If I remember properly, RB offers in this set nine complete rounds:3 AP, 3 APC and 3 HE.

Paint scheme as follows:

- AP round (shortest one) - black;

- APC round (longest one, should be more pointed than HE) - black (earlier model) or olive drab;

- HE round - olive drab with bare steel head fuse.

Shell cases brass of course.

work progressed... turret interior is block painted, time to do some high lighting & weathering... thinK I have painted the rounds wrong but a coat of OD should help correct..

oohhh pictures... turret done (I have also worked on the exterior of it but no pics of that yet)... have included 6 rounds - probably not accurate but least the turret is now "busy"

ok - building part complete (for once I am leaving the tools OFF to (perhaps) aid weathering)... no photos (may get some today) but parked up while I have a well earned break away - will be back on this at the end of August
