Graham T
This was an issue I first encountered with my Airfix Lanc & I'm sure I'm going to find the same thing when I remove the masks on my current Trumpy Wellington. I dip all transparencies in Future, mask (usually with Edusrd madks) & apply to the model at the last possible stage before painting. However with turrets, they usually have to be fitted before joining the fuselage sides. Almost invariably the join here has to be cleaned up - maybe even filled & its this that produces the crud that flows into the turrets & is thereafter impossible to remove. Any ideas how to avoid this?
Mitch K
I wish I could help! But whatever advice is very welcome because this is a bane of life too!
S5 modeller
I've heard rubbing the kit plastic, to introduce a static charge, can attract the bits from the transparency. Don't know if it works. Matt
JohnT
Good topic. I can think of times in the past when, pretty much as a last thing to do, I have glued a pristine canopy in place only to find small particles sticking to the inside later. Heaven knows where they have come from so any advice welcome. I have tended to skirt round the issue with open canopies but you can't always do that e.g. Vulcan, B-29 etc
