Dads203
Track bash done, not too bad these bigger links. It's a big Panzer this thing. Massive amount of armour being propelled by engine technology that struggled moving the Tiger 1 of half of it weight. Just as well really as these things if they were successful would of caused massive casualties for the allies. A figure to give it some scale. I think I painted him about 25 years ago so he's quite old. Cheers for looking Dan
Dads203
Front and rear mudguards, These I built about 4 years ago, all soldered up, just need to make the other two now. Cheers Dan

bigfoot
Lovely stuff as usual from your builds I've seen, high level of detail going into it. Watching this one with interest as I'm working on a 1/48 version ATM.

Dads203
Cheers Guys Not much done at the moment, just adding some of the missing details to the rear of the hull and the front. New tow shackles to the front and I've added the lifting lugs to the rear exhaust armoured covers. Currently looking for a crew for this one, I have a few German figures but not many, High probability that they will have some Hornet resin heads. Loads more PE work to crack on with at the moment both sets of rear fenders are almost done and both fronts are done, One alarmingly has gone missing? Popped it down on the bench yesterday and its done a runner ? It will turn up Cheers for looking Dan
longshanks
I some how missed the last couple of posts OMG tis a BIG bugger, how about a shot with the Sherman alongside for comparison ............. Serious good work with those mudguards, hope the one on holiday returns soon A to the figure painted 25 years ago what happened? Looks like you've only just caught up again. Cracking job so far keep up the good work Kev PS " Watching this one with interest as I'm working on a 1/48 version ATM. " It would seem I'm spending to much time on the wrong sites !!
Gremlin56
That is a huge piece of real estate running around on tracks Dan.You may be tempting me to go for the 1/16 Trumpie JT when it materializes.

Richard E
Virtually a bunker on tracks! OMG tis a BIG bugger, how about a shot with the Sherman alongside for comparison ............. Seeing it alongside a piece of modern armour like the Challenger would probably be an equally interesting comparison.
Dads203
Cheers chaps, I think the JT is around the same weight as a Chally, I'll take some photo's later to see. So a bit more work done this morning, lashed up the MG42 for the rear deck, just needs the belt of ammo adding once painted. Main gin sight added to the roof. Bow mounted MG barrel added also drilled out, and the headlight, a touch of Mr Surfacer required, these older dragon kits really suffer from large sprue gates. And started to texture up the rear armour plates where they have been cut. More later folks Dan

Dads203
Cheers Julian Just adding some of the smaller details which really takes the time as you know. Rear armoured exhaust cover has a small bracket fitted, it had a retaining pin and chain so I added this. Its probably for a hoist? I'm not sure but possibly for changing the rear idlers, It's not on both just the RHS. Dan
Mike
Looks good Dan... I still reckon you shoulda given it to me to finish all those years ago. IIRC that thing was sat on your shelf the first time I came your your gaff, so is it longer than 5 years? How does this compare with the Tamiya kit? That's the one I have, and I remember seeing somewhere that the Tamiya was just a bit better overall. Can't remember why though

It still shows signs of Squadron Green putty of which I never use now so it puts it around the timeframe. The Tamiya kit is much better in my opinion, these older Dragon kits do suffer from heavy sprue gates and soft detail in some places, I have had to clean up almost all of the parts on this build that I have used so far, some heavy flash and other small issues. Matt182
Coming along nicely Dan, mg post is looking good. Are you leaving the rear fenders off? Its probably for a hoist? I'm not sure but possibly for changing therear idlers, It's not on both just the RHS.Dan That bracket is a guide for the starter crank. The circular cover below the exhaust is removed and the crank fed through the bracket to give it support The two large square covers give access to the idler adjustment mechanism
