elmarriachi
*** UPDATE *** The rear superstructure was glued together next. The two doors of the tool boxes left and right were replaced by photo etched parts. The one on the right side also incl. interior - lock, closing mechanism - and will remain in open position later. All the parts of the body were primered then in black. The paintig was made with Tamiya "German Grey" as first paint, then highlights were made with two further lighter grey tones on the upper side. A dark blue washing with oil colors followed. Light beige washing on the underside of the body, as well as in the wheelhouses, then some pigments in beige / brown on the underside followed next. Also the interior received some updates. The details (tools) were painted with a fine brush, the floor dusted with a beige washing. Some sheer metal will follow. Then airbrushed in dark yellow/brwon/beige, then washed with brown oil colors. Further details were added - the lamps, the details on the front fenders (wire plus brass balls), rear lamps mounted and painted, .... elmarriachi
Hello, a little process later The engine covers left and right were painted in beige, then camouflage in green and red-brown, then weathering. I think one side will be mounted, the other one remains on the cargo bed. The canvas was painted in beige, then fully painted with brown oil color, then the oil color was wiped away. Same was done with the canvas at the entries. The barrels, crates and other stuff was painted in some different colos and washed with oil color.not finished yet. Some sheer metal, leaked oil, dirt and more will follow. Next are the decals, then some leaking oil and grease, some dirt, ... Then I have to think about if I want to use the hoops for the tarpaulin or not ..... Then I will put the Famo aside and go on with the trailer .... The dirt itself, dust etc. follows later on the Famo, together with the trailer. Cheers Micha

elmarriachi
Hello, and some more update. The small stuff is painted and weathered a bit ... the decals still missing as well as dust, dirt ... follows later. The canvas needs one more layer of matt varnish... just thinking which one will give it a 100% matt look? Also started with the trailer - Sd.Ahg. 116 some first parts glued together, some details added... resin wheels (not glued yet) and ready for painting later... Now the rear part ... elmarriachi
Hello, the tractor received some first steps of weathering with sand colored pigments.... The trailer is also fully built in the meantime... and painted in German Grey by Tamiya (after black primer, brown wooden color, salt). The decals followed, also a light grey dry brushing, painting of the details and a layer of clear coat. The weathering started also with sandy pigments ... Sgt.Squarehead
That is an absolutely awesome build, your paintwork and weathering is just amazing.....But why on earth did you put those (tractor?) tyres on the front? They just look wrong.....The front wheels of German halftracks aren't powered so you can put all the grip in the world on them and it will make no difference whatsoever, the tracks do all the work. Personally (and this is solely my opinion) I think they completely spoil the look of your model.
elmarriachi
Hey,.. maybe thats true .... maybe i will change the wheels ......these are not glued, so maybe i will switch from time to time Thank yxou for the note ! Cheers Micha
elmarriachi
Hello, I have started with the load for the trailer. I decided to use a kit of the Sd.Kfz.162 "Jagdpanzer IV" from Mr.Hobby. This kit is detailed enough, but not too many parts. Some etched parts and a turned barrel will follow. The tracks are made separately, glued and put around the wheels before the glue was 100% dry. A fist try on the trailer ..... tight... but fits Under the trailer you could see the base for the truck/trailer combination Cheers Michael
elmarriachi
Hello, one small update for the Famo. I have glued together some of the figues of the Tamiya kit. I hate painting figures and I can not paint figures. But it must go... At least it looks a bit busy now. Now I have to think about leaving the roof open or close. Open or close...? Open? Close? Let's see.... Next step - going on with the tank on the trailer .... Cheers Micha
elmarriachi
Hello, the "Jagdpanzer IV" is finished. I have added a turned metal barrel and some provisory added plates on the sides which will receive a different color later. The tank will be primed red now, then painted in German Yellow, green and dark brown camouflage. Cheers Micha
