catdude01
My finished Tamiya 1/35 M4A3 Sherman 105 howitzer. Only a metal barrel was added, otherwise is OOB. Kit was painted in Black and White as explained by Jose Luis Lopez in his Book Black and White Technique. Finished details with Ammo products. Mimir
Excellent use of the black and white technique! Are the stars done with a stencil? They are perfectly integrated with the surrounding paint.
fredben
That is one good built Sherman. I have the "Fury" model in my stash, might start it after seeing your brilliant build.

You must be well chuffed with how it turned out I Am! If you ask me this is one hell of a kit to start building tanks. Very easy to follow, and the results at the end no matter the skil level are good.
Etienne
Hello, very nice build ! ... I noticed that you even reproduced the wear of the helmet's rim. Best regards, E
Badder
I am currently building this kit and have really enjoyed it. However, the machine gun on the turret is a problem. As it is, it wouldn't be any use as a weapon against any target closer than a mile. The gun will not aim at any point lower than on the horizontal as the ammo box is impeded by the gun mount. I have therefore reversed the actual gun in its mount. Now I can hang the gun, muzzle down, over the back of the turret, something I have seen in photos. So, did Tamiya get the gun mount the wrong way round... is it just a poor part-design on Tamiya's part.. or did tank crews turn the mounts round themselves? Here's a photo, where you can see that the 'yoke' of the gun mount is reversed. By that I mean that although the gun is pointing towards the rear, the 'yoke' of the gun mount is ALSO angled towards the rear. (In other words, I deliberately mounted the gun the wrong way round in its mount) Does that make sense? Compare to the poster's pics. Housesparrow
Wow. How do you plan the weathering for such a project? Is this a routine that you do on all tanks?
