1/32 Revell Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - With Extras

Recommended Posts

Well, Dan Jones, who lives a stones throw away from me has come up with the idea of a buddy build...

We share this kit in common, although I'm not sure if Dan has all the extra greeblies that I do... frown.gif

We shall post regular updates on progress, as I am certain that Dan will start his own thread once we take steel to styrene tomorrow. smile.gif

Without further ado... The aforementioned victim.... evil_laugh.gif

Update 01

Resin and I do not get along. Nope, no Sir, no how!

Fettled and sanded.... fettled and sanded some more, then more fettling and sanding....

Still the wretched pit wont fit, and, to top it all off, I've stressed the fuselage halves in doing so (me and my clumsy meat hooks)....

Donor kit purchased, and will now be strictly kit parts only, and AM decals.

:hanging:

Use the resin sidewalls and seat, keep the kit pit? Careful painting and it comes up nicely.

I'm working on one of these at the moment -

Also, be careful with the wing assembly for the leading edges and the tips. Very careful alignment and precision will save you a lot of hard work later on. ASK ME HOW I KNOW!

Bit more done on this one... and happy news!!! Disaster averted. The resin pit fits.... :)

Turns out there was a big blob of CA glue that had built up under one of the side wall panels.... a quick scalpel job and a dab of CA, rather than a run, and all is well again... Added bonus - we now have a doner kit, should spares be needed :D

I did, however, get a bit carried away, so there are no parts shots of the pit going together, or my remedy unfortunately... :( Sorry Ralph.
