eddiesolo
Calling this one finished, all had a protective matt coat and the flag and pennant added. There is a bucket and some chains to add but that is all. So here she is, first time under her own power. But she also spies something on her first run...a bunker, is it derelict or does it have a nasty surprise? The bunker is scratch made from an old clock case and some bits from the junk box, just gives us something to attack/defend or hide behind. eddiesolo
Brill,'king brilliant wished I could afford one what's the lowest cost of one ? Many thanks, pleased you like it. Cheapest is the Heng Long range, that is what I have got. They do three types: Basic is forward, reverse, turret left and right, barrel up and down and fire. This is my 'Helga' Tiger 1 and that has the basic functions, paid around £60 for it but of course the paint job is something I did. They come in standard grey. This is my 'Herta' the one in this thread. She has the basic functions plus engine start up and shut down, proportional control so, slow to fast, machine gun sound and recoil action, paid around £85 for this one and again the paint job is extra. They then do a pro version, this does all the same as mine but comes with metal tracks, metal sprocket and idler wheels and metal 5.1 gear boxes. The standard type come with plastic tracks and wheels and nylon gears. Extras on the snow Tiger are, PE grilles on the rear deck. Extras on one in this thread are, PE grilles on rear deck, fire extinguisher and upgrade to metal gearboxes. There are also other makers: Taigen, Torro, Tamiya, Mato. The Taigen, Torro and Mato are either part metal or all metal hulls and turrets. These can be expensive, and although quality is better, the Heng Long offers a no frills package that has range, fires BB etc and can be made to look reasonable well. Also the HL tanks can be upgraded cheaply as they are now going over to 2.4 Ghz. Mato all metal Tiger is around £500. Upgrade kits for the Tiger 1 are around £60 for gearboxes and tracks + wheel: Other items like suspension and road wheels can be uprated too. Beware of some metal items that say they fit the HL tanks, they do, but you are made for the Mato etc so you wiull have to cut and faff the plastic hull to get them to fit if you decide to go this way. I didn't bother, just wanted to paint it and get on with battling my lad Edited March 22, 2016 by eddiesolo
