Matave
United Whalers Ltd. bought a couple of Supermarine Walrus to search for whale in the Antarctic 1946-47. There were three of them participated in the whaling expedition, but only "Boojum and "Snark" actually flew in the Antactic. G-AHFL "Boojum" G-AHFM "Moby Dick" left at Cape Town as backup. G-AHFN Flown in the Folkstone Trophy Race by John Grierson and didn't participate in the expedition. G-AHFO "Snark" What colour had the Walrus'? There seems to be no great difference of shade between the "yellow" and the silver on the black and white photographs from the expedition. References says bright yellow - gloss yellow - crome yellow. This one has a quite brownish yellow colour. Why? Which colour reference? Edited March 22, 2016 by Matave
