HansReggelsen
Hi! During my unemployment I kinda lost most of my modeling 'Mojo' but a new job has rekindled it and I set about finishing my first scratchsbuilt spaceship and so without further ado I present to you the - as of yet still unfinished - Mars Transporter: The starting point: The Base Paintjob: More paint and start of weathering: The Noseart (and I MEAN noseart) Now weathered: Start of the weathering: and from the other end (one could say:"The END is near") That's all for now - next update will be when it's finished! S5 modeller
That's a cool scratch project you've built Hans. Loving the nose art, very reminiscent of red dwarf. Can't wait to see it finished. Matt

HansReggelsen
Thanks for all your replies! IIRC it started out as a holder for a expensive deodorant for my son. I immediately seized it for further use and this is what it resulted in. A classic 1930'es spaceship with a twist. Not the prettiest spaceship I admit - that honour probably would go the the spaceship 'Swinetrek' of Muppet fame (!) - but it's mine - all mine!! It still needs another round of weathering, but I'm getting there! Cheers Hans J
Thom216
In real life functional is beautiful! that ship looks great! Love the nose art and the nose actually gives me a 2001-type feel. We shall call it, the Taxi-Can!

BobSolo
This is awesome, it does have a french feel about it, reminds me of one of those 3 wheeled bubble cars, i love them too!
Blastvader
That's brilliant! I keep coming back to look at that last pic as the scratched paintwork and weathering is just amazing.
HansReggelsen
Thanks Blastvader! I must confess I'm rather surprised too myself how well it turned out! It's a combination of dark grey pastels on the engines themselves and black oil paint streaked over the checkers. I actually don't know if I'll be able to pull that off on the rest! And to Bobsolo: Now you mention it - hmmm...yes! Cheers Hans J
HansReggelsen
Hi again! I know I said that I would post pictures of the finished model, but the oilpaint I've been using takes ages and ages to dry (I've already have had to redo the weathering several places, because I accidently rubbed it off by my clumsy handeling!) that I thought I'd put up some pictures of the semi-finished model sans decals. I hope you'll find it in your hearts to forgive me : And here's the patch I plan on using on the base: Cheers for now Hans J
