JMMendes
Hi fellow modelers! Just finished this little polikarpov i 16 type 24. Its the icm 1/72 , a very good kit in general. Fire your opinions!!
SoftScience
Very nice! Is the exposed engine part of the kit, or your own addition?
JMMendes
Well, its a bit of both. The engine is quite detailed, and the way it "closes" its really easy to image an open engine scene. So i just put some more wires and some details in there to "fill" it up, then some painting/oils/pigments... Then painted and weather all the plane with the doors closed (just some tamiya tape on the inside)...to remove them in the end, for an exposed engine. Its a good kit from ICM, some minor flash, nothing more. Thanks for the cumpliment! Edited March 8, 2016 by JMMendes

Duncan B
You've done a fantastic job of it. It must be quite a small kit too. Duncan B
Spitfire31
A very convincing portrayal, not least in view og its diminutive size. Excellent modelling! Kind regards, Joachim

JMMendes
Thank you very much guys! Its really a small little fellow...about 6/7 cm from propeler to tail. Really enjoy it...i just added some details in the engine, the metal ring in the cowling, and the wires in the wheels...I weather it a bit more, because most of the old photos show it as a real work mule . Meatbox8
A great looking I-16, especially considering how tiny it is. Quite an iconic aircraft beautifully rendered.

stevehnz
Lovely indeed. I saw 5 of these fly at the Wanaka airshow in 1998, a whole swarm of little tubby aircraft, I've enjoyed seeing them ever since, yours is right up there with the best.
