Wee Beastie
Well, here we go, diving straight into this beast. It's a Flanker, so it's big anyway, but made bigger by the larger wings needed for this carrier-bourne version.I'll be making it "wings-up", no pilot (a change for me!), as it comes OOB, and something a little different diorama-wise. Believe me, you don't really need after-market with this kit. In my opinion, it's stunning!!There's lot of very well detailed parts, a sheet of very thin PE (not sure if this is a good or bad thing), highly detailed plastic exhaust nozzles, and one piece missiles (similar to GWH's MiG-29's).Stand back!! I'm going in!! Flankerman
If you're doing it wings up - will you also be folding the nose pitot and tailcone ?? That would be very interesting. Happy (Sea) Flankering Ken PS - My walkround photos (including wing fold pics - but no tailcone and pitot) are here.
AntPhillips
Having picked up one of these earlier this week, I'll be following this one. Mines being put to one side pending reappearance for the hoped for Flanker STGB in 2017.

Radleigh
Still not got one, I picked one up and put it down last weekend... It's 1/48th and I'm resisting, I think I will break soon though. Looking forward to seeing this being built, still not seen the plastic..

Ahhh, the next step is to pick it up and then not put it down until you get home... Don't forget to pay for it though. Uncle Uncool
carrier-bourne version. Awesome kit, Ian; me agrees. Will be watchin' with the greatest of interest! Incidentally, does yer kit have anythin' of an injection undershot defect inside the speed brake well, like a hole or sumthin'...? Cheers, mate! Wee Beastie
Cockpit almost finished. Just waiting on delivery of Dream Models newly released coloured PE cockpit set, just so I can use the seat belts from it. Very surprised there's no belts with the kit, either PE, or moulded to the seat. Wee Beastie
The Dream Model PE set has arrived from Lucky Model, and it looks great in the packet. Arrived quickly too, less than week As you can see, it's made an amazing difference. I have only used the belts, and seat padding. They've been given a thinned black wash, then a very light dry brushing. As for the instrument panels, they may well end up in my stashed Su-30.Untitled by ian gaskell, on FlickrUntitled by ian gaskell, on FlickrUntitled by ian gaskell, on Flickr
Wee Beastie
And here is the front undercarriage leg, with some added copper! The FOD guards on the bottom are from the kit's PE set, as is the "traffic light" mount (half way down, in the second photo). Again, there are a lot of parts used in the assembling of this. The third photo shows the hub detail, from the inside of the main undercarriage wheels. Impressive!
