JackG
This is AZmodel's 72nd scale Boeing P-26. Brengun PE detail was added (mainly intererior), and resin Wasp engine from RADIAL ENGINES &WHEELS. This is a 'whif' (what if) project, story is: ... with the Canadian economy finally recovering from the Great Depression, the RCAF began pressing the government for the need to modernize their air force. Looking to their neighbours to the south, a deal was struck to procure a single aircraft for testing purposes. In exchange for the Peashooter, an undisclosed amount of beer, bacon and maple syrup was shipped across the border. regards, Jack Edited February 22, 2016 by JackG

Artie
I'm not a fan of what if modeling at all, but must admit your Peashooter looks fantastic, quite well detailed and finished and absolutely "real"......Congratulaions for such a beauty.... By the way, changing planes for beer seems a nonsense to my ears.....Who would be the stupid one to get rid off the beer??????

Meatbox8
A splendid model and a great piece of whiffery. Did a double take at the sepia photo as I thought it was the real thing. It's amazing how you've made such a diminutive model look 1/48th. The Canadian colours rather suite the Peashooter.

JackG
Thank you doozer1974, Stix, Matt, batcode, Reini78, Jason, Dave N, stevej60, Artie, Col., Paul J, stinger-d,Meatbox8, Cookenbacher, russ c, and Trevor. The scheme is based on actual RCAF Siskins during the period. I included the date 1934 because near the end of that year, the coloured stripes were eliminated from rudders, and the following year aircraft serials were switched to a 3-digit system. The only addition on my part was the flag of Canada, an Aviaeology product. The rest of the decals are home made. regards, Jack
