Westland Walrus – Esoteric 1/72 vacform - restored links

Recommended Posts

Finally completed to my satisfaction. The vacform parts were used for the basic shape, but (too) many other parts and details had to be scratchbuild, including full interior, undercarriage and the ventral pannier. White metal engine, wheels and propeller. The build can be reviewed here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234980009-the-other-walrus-esoteric-172-vacform/page-1

Finished as all silver N9532 believed of No. 423 Flight at Novar ca. 1923/24. Hand brushed with Revell and Humbrol enamel paints. Decals from the kit – excellent quality – despite of their age.

As usual with me - no rigging.

Thank you for looking and for your comments.

Esoteric is the word. A beautiful build of a beautiful (!) aircraft. Your silver dope finish is superb, especially bearing in mind it is brush applied. It was quite a contraption, the Walrus, that's for sure. It's certainly not lacking in character though, which is excellently captured in your model.
