andrea
Hi, I am an modeller from Croatia. For more than thirty years I am searching all about mentioned Spitfire. I would like to know one last thing about it and that is personal aircrafts letter that comes after "GZ" squadron letters. ( A,B.C,... ? ) Anybody knows where to search? Grey Beema
You could try the Squadron ORB in the UK national archive. You have to pay a nominal fee for a copy of months entries into the ORB however some squadrons put in the individual aircraft letter and some don't. Eg 19 Sqn its serial number only. Beyond that its trolling through photos on the interwar and hoping you'll find your aeroplane. Btw if you find a picture of Spitfire 1a R6991 serving with 19 Sqn send it to me as I am on the same mission...
andrea
I made some progress. JF344 was in "B" flight. It was not "M", not "N" and not "O".
