Academy 1/35 Hetzer

Recommended Posts

First RFI post, first PE, First Pigments, you get the idea.

Just finished this build with / for my son who is mad about Hetzers since playing World of tanks and watching Combat Dealers.

Enjoyable build, I had a few problems locating the front drive. I had to fiddle with the tracks but I think they look pretty good. Paint wise I used Vallejo acrylics, washes and a hint of wilder textured earth. I have gone for a used but not worn out look. I am trying to apply what I have picked up from all the amazing builds on the site. Things have really changed since I last build models, definitely for the better.

Apologies for the photography but it's taken on my phone. I'll try and get some better shots tomorrow.

Thanks Redcap and MikeR for the comments. It only looks the the way it does due to the great guidance given by the members of this forum. Us tags to show you can learn things from the Internet.

My son loves it and has now got me building him an AFV Club Centurion. It's great to have the excuse / reason to build

Thanks PlaStix

Agree on the Centurion, I built the suspension on Sunday and had to dig deep to get numbers 5 and 6 completed. Fun but I got the feeling there was not much of a margin for error. That said it does look good.

I've just twigged I followed the whole of your RAAC Cent WIP. A truly inspiring build. If mine turns out 1/2 as well I'll be well chuffed
