matt_w
My first "proper" car build! My collection is pretty much all aircraft so this is something very different! I am building a replica of my friends Civic using the Fujimi Civic Sir. Its a very modified car, so there will be lots of scratch building, something Ive not done very much of! Heres the car, A k-swapped Civic, stripped for track use: And heres the Kit! Whats in the Box: masks Decals: ][ I will also need to have some custom decals made or try and print some of my own, again a first! The Sprues have all been coated in a thin primer. The plastic Is bright red otherwise Edited February 12, 2016 by matt_w
matt_w
First Job, other than priming is to cut the tub as the car has no interior other than seats and the dash. I saw this done on another Civic build that is ongoing. The tub: and chopped: Next will be fit this to the floorpan and start scratch building the rear panels, roll cage and suspension towers. I also have a set of Hobby Design Bride Vios Low max Bucket seats. Sports seats are quite hard to come by unless they are from Australia! I'm waiting on some reference pictures, and the paint on my lightning has dried, so back to that for now! Come back in a few weeks for some more updates!!! matt_w
Ive been busy doing bits with this. Firstly the seats turned up, a set of Hobbyboss Bride Vios seats. There doesn't seem to be much else about ] They needed a bit of chopping to match the Corbeau seats fitted with the harness holes being different [] Painted flat black on the front, gloss black on the rear: ] Next up, I re shaped the wheel arches and filled over the fuel tank with plasticard: ] Roll cage made out of sprues: ] Some rear panels made of plasticard ( idea taken from the other civic build.. Thanks) ] Roughly fitted, to show they add a bit of interest.. ][ Finally some adjustments to the bodywork: Speedholes... Its a Honda thing I think?? I suppose anything to make a slow car a bit quicker ] More Speedholes and the lower bumper re shaped: ] Edited February 21, 2016 by matt_w

matt_w
Yeah, I've been doing quite a few little bits & with the kit itself being very simple so it will fly together at final assembly. I'm going to finish it first then update here with the build as the guy im building it for is now aware of this thread! (Ive got plenty of pictures) Although im only scratch building basic bits, its quite fun!
Giant Voice 74
Well jealous you have some window masks to use! Looks like you have as much scratch building as me to do, keep it up, can't wait to see how it turns out. Ty.
matt_w
So ive finished it! I can now update here. Very simple kit, but really enjoyed trying to get all the details of the car in! Not the proper way of doing it, but the kit is so basic, there was not much else I could do. All that was left to do was to spray the shell in Honda Vogue Silver, paint the bonnet and roof in black and paint the details.. Ill add a finished thread once my friend has taken some photos with the real car.. for now heres a poor photo of the finished item IMG_20160310_214528 by matt wellington, on FlickrIMG_20160310_214855 by matt wellington, on Flickr IMG_20160310_214653 by matt wellington, on Flickr
