Hello everyone.

Seeing as it's coming out in 1918 configuration, I figured this was the place to put it.

Showcase models Australia has announced that their 1/350 scale V&W destroyer is in production

and will be shipping late March this year.

Pre orders will be taken in the next few days, just waiting on a price.

Alot of CAD work has gone into this kit, so it should be a accurate representation.

I believe after Trumpeter's Eskimo, this is only the second RN destroyer in 1/350.

Enjoy!

just received a fabulous message from Show Case Models in Australia !! - as I posted a question to them last week - is this model available for pre-order ?

Hi you don't need to place pre order, i will mention in our website and facebook

once we have the kits. It will be around june this year. Thanks

so it looks like we will have the Model available to purchase this summer !!

I would take that ' release date ' with a HUGE pinch of salt - and I seriously doubt the Model is available to buy right now

I was informed directly by Showcase Models Australia  that the Kit was to be released in the Summer of this year and that the announcement

was to be made on their Facebook page when it was to be sold

I ordered 2 from Hobby Easy on 18 March and received them yesterday (Hong Kong to Australia).

Beautiful kit. One piece slide moulded hull. Each funnel is one piece slide moulded.  PE details galore.

The Hobby Easy website shows a release date of 3 April available for pre-order.  Maybe they sold the first batch out.

Hi Guys

Just to confirm that Showcase Models of Australia also have the kit available direct for sale , I am ordering mine from them on Monday

and build it as HMS Walker ( D27 ) - hopefully someone will produce an aftermarket etch kit for the Bridge Extension

which was fitted to some ships( but not all ) - interwar to increase the bridge space for the Crew

kind regards

David

Hi
Just to give an update that the Refit Bridge a lot of the V W Class were given in the late 1920's , and early 1930's is now available
to buy as a bespoke item - from Shapeways - and made by MicroMaster ( Simon ) in 1/350 scale !
https://www.shapeways.com/product/NMUZ5 ... li=ostatus
and the amidships twin-gun pom-pom platform ( as fitted to a lot of the ships - after the 3 inch gun was removed )
https://www.shapeways.com/product/KHK7L ... d=63366940

This is ( below ) the link to all of the V W Class improvements to the Showcase Models Australia Kit -
including Barr and Stroud Rangefinders in 1/350 scale - you can also source far superior RN binoculars in 1/350 from him
https://www.shapeways.com/shops/micro-m ... royers&s=0

These Parts are very detailed and benefit from the Highly detailed
Original Ship Plans for HMS Walpole of Doxford , Sunderland Shipyard in 1/46 scale which I paid for to be scanned ( for the 1st time ever )

so if you want to have a V W Class Interwar or WW2 era ( excluding WAIR Class , of course ) , then this set will save you a huge amount of work
kind regards
David Walker
