Homerlovesbeer
Like the topic title, I wouldn't mind building a Dash-8 Q400 but I'm having trouble finding one? Cheers
Caution Wake Turbulence
This is the only one I know about: http://www.nazca-decals.com/html/nazca-models.htm Cheers, Andrew
Dennis_C
It looks like there is also new resin kit from Welsh models https://www.scalemates.com/kits/966995-welsh-models-sl335r-dhc-dash-8-300-jazz Also there is Dash 8-100 from Hobbycraft in 1/72 Anyway plastic Q-series in 1/144 is definitely missing considering over 1000 flying today. Dave Swindell
Welsh Models do the Dash 8-Q400, Dash 8-300 and Dash 8-100, all in several liveries.
Homerlovesbeer
Thanks guys that's what I thought. Nobody makes a Q400 in plastic only resin which I don't really want to go near. Such a shame as there are a LOT flying around with major airlines and it is the worlds fastest turboprop airliner.
Paul Bradley
The Nazca link is immaterial - it's been sold out for years. I, too, would like to buy one, having flown in them with two different airlines, but unless Italeri sees fit to issue one to accompany their ATR, I don't see it happening. Radleigh
I would love a 1/72nd kit.. One day I'm going to try extend the Hobbycraft kit and mod that.. and it is the worlds fastest turboprop airliner. I assume you mean currently flying?
Dennis_C
Maybe somebody like BPK (done CRJ-100/200 already) could bring us the plastic Q400 in 1/72 and 1/144?

I didn't realise the Nazca kit was sold out, I've always hovered over the buy it button. I agree with others that this is certainly an aircraft that deserves to be modelled. We live in hope that someone will deem it worthy of an injection moulded kit. I won't hold my breath though.

Really must buy the decals though, as I'll bet any new kit won't come with the markings I want.

BPK would be my first bet, but the way Amodel are going I wouldn't put it past them.

Yeah I notice the big red letters but they're a recent addition to that page, so it must have only just (difficult to define) sold out. The last time I looked at that site those letters weren't there.
Paul Bradley
It's been at least a year; I've been keeping an eye on it, hoping against hope that they might get another batch in.
chrisov
Perhaps not quite what you wanted but Skymarks made a 1/100? Slot together one in Flybe marks, in flying state. Cheers Chris
Homerlovesbeer
Nah. Thanks anyway Chris. I've seen those around and I can tell you I've spent enough time around Q400's to weather the hell out of a plastic 1:72 if they ever make one. Those birds work VERY HARD and would be awesome to weather with all the grease stains, worn paint and ice chipped fuselage's, plus I can get reference pics VERY easily
Mike Esposito
Does anybody know how the Welsh Models kit is? Accurate? Easy to build?
Rob G
Maybe we can all impose our wishes on Zvezda and get one (or several different versions) in 144 to go with Revell's BAe146 kits. (Airliner builders need to email Revell and get the 146 reissued in a white box/no decals run too. Revell don't think it'd sell, but I saw one sell for Au$48 on eBay the other day.)
